Chad:

Hello, welcome to Escape Reality Comics Podcast Show. I'm your host, Chad with my co-host Kevin. How you doing, Kevin?

Kevin:

Doing great. And how about you, man?

Chad:

I'm doing awesome. So we got pretty good, fun things to talk about today. Wednesday, we're kind of we're kind of off our game. So we're like now we're not doing Wednesday. So we're gonna do it. Save it for today. So the title for today's dragons prefer green bionic eyes. Today we're gonna be talking about what's going on with game sales. When talking about Game of Thrones. We're gonna be talking about the bionic eye. We're gonna talk about the Greenlanders and invincible. So today should be interesting. Hopefully you are interested, because I'm interested. So yeah, let's move on. Well,

Kevin:

I'm excited.

Chad:

There we go.

Kevin:

interested and excited.

Chad:

Whoo. Alrighty, so Kevin, what's going on? games buddy.

Kevin:

All right, so PlayStation five is doing unbelievably well. So if you're ever wondering why you can't ever find one in the store, or can't even buy one online, because it's just tell them out like hotcakes. Yeah, they're they're doing it's doing so well. It's becoming the fastest selling console in the us right now. So that's why you can't find them anywhere. they've sold 7.8 million units now so that's just in the US alone. I know that the switch is still doing very well Nintendo Switch. So I kind of wonder how this is doing come into the PlayStation five sales as of the last couple of months compared to the switch

Chad:

well the switch is fun.

Kevin:

Oh gosh. Yeah. Nintendo Nintendo knew what they were doing is what four years later

Chad:

oh yes speaking on Nintendo they just came out with a poke'mon snap yeah yeah

Kevin:

yeah. Oh snap

Chad:

the was the whitest snap I've ever heard my life holy snaps neighbor chill out Ned Flanders

Kevin:

sorry there neighbor Yeah, it's a Pokemon Snap that as well that just had come out was that last week? So that's another one we did you know like to kind of do a shout out for

Chad Singleton:

know that I came out today?

Kevin:

I came out today oh well. Our yesterday I kept seeing reviews for it last week that might have been what was going on but I that's another thing I plan on picking up. So I'm sure those sales you're also going to be doing well.

Chad:

I'm doing that today too.

Kevin:

Okay, are you doing digital? Are you doing physical digital?

Unknown:

I have three kids dude. I bought that was it the Pokemon Eevee version of Pokemon? I did the kids lost it. **Banging in the background** That's just like literally my heart just sank to my stomach is my cat was out the door. Yeah, I have a steel door. So it's like the cat when she wants to come back in. It's certainly someone pounding on my door and I was not prepared.

Kevin:

Sorry about my really was that a 90s kind of reference there, but I couldn't even 80s the reviews have been really good for the game. So anybody that's got a Nintendo Switch and kind of on the fence about it or had no idea it was coming. We did we did talk about that one quite a bit. What four or five episodes back. So we were in our Pokemon mode back.

Chad:

Hell yeah.

Unknown:

And then first speaking of switch and staying on the Nintendo thing. Monster Hunter rise, the latest Monster Hunter that is selling very well. worldwide. It sold 6 million copies. So that's doing very well. So Capcom should be very happy. Nice. Yeah, I talked about that in another couple episodes back and I have intended to pick that one up. It looks really fast paced. A lot of crazy action in different moves you can do with your characters, taking out those monsters and dragons and right dinosaurs.

Chad:

There we go. Heck yeah. Open World. Yeah.

Kevin:

Sorta like the way Monster Hunter works is they kinda set you in a in a, like a kind of a map. Like they have their own environment. They have their own kind of, you know setting it's open world style. You can cook whatever you want and gather materials whenever you want and make things and sharpen your weapons and but then Got you kind of honed in on some quests and stuff and you can do it in multiplayer just online or single player.

Chad:

Oh, nice. Yeah, I saw the Monster Hunter movie that posted come out like came out was Yeah. Wow yeah

Kevin:

I I want to I want to like that movie but I've heard some great i mean

Chad:

you know I never I never they've never played the game but I saw the movie and I just cared about the the oversized cat that was cooking their meals. That was cool. That was like Bob's only noteworthy thing I've seen about it but you know it was Yeah, it was fun to watch is one of those oh cool if you don't just watch it and take more

Kevin:

detail enjoy the Mila Jovovich I've always liked her ever since she did

Chad:

Resident

Unknown:

Evil. Well, that too. I think the director that did the Resident Evil movies helped her make that Monster Hunter movie. Oh, yeah. Big time. That was that was said multipass. Pass. Movie pass. What's that movie with? The pass? multi pass with Bruce Willis. The Fifth Element 1997. But yeah, that's all I got to talk about for video games got down on kind of a tangent there. Multi pass multi pass multi pass

Chad:

So we got the Game of Thrones. Pretty cool, dude, get this we got the game, HBO is picking up a new game of thrones, like, spin off. It's called the house of dragons.

Kevin:

So they've been they've been working on this for a while. I know that. So

Chad:

they got pitched in 2019. They didn't pick it up for some awful reason. I don't know why. But I guess they're going to they picked it up. And this post be showing off some time. debut sometime next year. And the first pilot is going to be fire will rein. So that's supposed to come out next year. So apparently, this is gonna take place back 200 years ago before the events of Game of Thrones, right? And it kind of cracked me up because remind me a lot of Star Wars. You know, you got an initial one that's like, oh, there's this war happened, but we're not going to show you the war. But this big war happened. But you know, this is the these are the events after this war. So now it's kind of like okay, well, now we're gonna do the Star Wars thing. Oh, there's a whole new you know, prequel of Star Wars. And now we're gonna show you the what the war is. So just kind of like the same thing. So apparently this is gonna take place when the house Targaryen that's when that house the dragons people was the peak of its rule in Westeros apparently show the reasons why they had the dance of dragons. House Targaryen Civil War. So I don't know if you've ever seen the Game of Thrones, Kevin. But there was, like, I want to say like episode season six, where this little girl had grayscale disease on her face. And she was teaching this guy to read I'm sorry, I'm I although I just saw the whole. I just finished the episode not too long ago. Like I would probably say two days ago, I finished the whole Game of Thrones. And it was actually really good. I'm horrible with names

Kevin:

a lot. A lot of names a lot of names and terms. And yes, honestly. Yeah. It's It's my wife is hardcore into the books. So she knows like she would be great on here to tell you about all the individual characters. But it's a lot to keep track of. So I don't blame you,

Unknown:

dude. It is really interesting. I remember when they first came out. There was a you know, who hasn't watched the Game of Thrones. And then people use the say proudly they go I never saw the Game of Thrones. And because it was like, Oh, I'm not a sheep or whatever. Like, no, I just didn't. I couldn't afford HBO. I didn't have HBO. So I couldn't watch it. So I want to watch it.

Kevin:

I was you know what? So you watch the whole thing. Now I

Unknown:

watched the whole thing. And yeah, it's very nice. It's really cool. I'd like to. But yeah,

Kevin:

this will touch on the grayscale stuff a little bit more.

Chad:

No, the gray scale is like more of a zombie ish type thing. More or less zombie than what happened in season seven. But of Game of Thrones, but apparently greyscale is a disease that takes over your whole body and it takes over your brain in where you're just like an animal. So you're kind of like a zombie, but not really were like in season. You know, you've I think it was like season seven, where they fought the army of the undead. So that's actual zombie. So but yeah, greyscale is this disease for the game on the game Thrones. So it was pretty cool. I liked it a lot. So Kevin,

Kevin:

yes, sir.

Chad:

How's your wallet?

Kevin:

My wallet is thick with business cards.

Chad:

Screw that. Get yourself a papale

Kevin:

What the hell is that?

Unknown:

It's a digital buisness card that you can stick in the back of your phone or tablet. Okay,

Kevin:

where do I get one or

Chad:

my tablet using to go to popl.co that's p o p l.co. Type in ERCOMICS on checkout to save 20% boom. There's our commercial for pople. enjoy that. So

Kevin:

we nailed it. nailed that one. We nailed it. Yes.

Chad:

Okay, well, apparently, there's a bionic guy that frickin dude like, doctors are coming out with craziness now dude like that was the $6 million man or the Million Dollar Man or a billion dollar man, whatever that old 80s freakin sci fi show it was Oh my god. So they have the bionic eye. They actually made bionic eye for blind people. So apparently, this company called bio electronics company called pixum vision, has announced that it has received the healthcare tech award for best products slash deal category of 2020 it's bionic vision system. So this bionic eye, known as the prima system, designed to give blind people the ability to see and That's the news for tech.

Kevin:

Couple of years ago, they had in the UK and there was like a camera that they were able to put it into people that had no I like they just had the eye socket. Yeah, yeah. And I don't know if that allowed them to see like this is going to go on to do but at least recorded. And then you could watch what they are seeing, you know, Oh, nice.

Unknown:

Yeah, cuz they actually there It looks like an apparent looks like an actual eye. You pop it in and it's an eyeball. So yeah, it's kind of like that Thor movie. Or it has he pops in the bionic eye. And he like hits it a few times. He goes all over the place. That's all I'm picturing. So just a little wobbly eye. Before it gets calibrated to your to your skull.

Kevin:

Yeah, that'd be amazing.

Unknown:

No, yeah, big time. So we got to Green Lantern coming out, buddy. How do you feel about this?

Kevin:

Okay, yeah. Oh, I you know, the 2011 movie was kind of a concern. You know, so if you're going to go forward with something else here.

Unknown:

I'm worried about this. The Green Lantern. Yes. I am definitely worried about the Green Lantern series as opposed to coming out with HBO. HBO picked up the release days not yet to be hasn't been released yet. They did start production last month. So they're filming. So right. I am worried about this. Because it seems like it's this is a curse. We're kind of like where the fantastic for you know the they try to do things with a fantastic four movies and it's like not like something's missing. Something's not really adding up. So I'm kind of worried about what's gonna happen with this one for sure. So but apparently they casted Emmy nominated American horror stories. Finn wittrock as gate guard. Guy Gardner swoops. Has guy Gardner. So I you know,

Kevin:

my wife and I really enjoyed American Horror Story. So

Unknown:

I really picture him doing is being that Spoiled Brat in the rich, Spoiled Brat and one of the series It's all I can really picture him doing. I'm just like, no, because guy Gardner. He's supposed to be like this macho man, you know this, I don't know. But yeah, he's supposed to be all muscles and all stuff. And you look at Finn rock is like, he's, I don't I don't think that's gonna work. So maybe they'll have him just working out hardcore. HBO is been on a really good streak lately for what their series and all that stuff. I mean, I've been really shocked. I'm really impressed, really, on their series with comic movies. And also comic book series excuse me. So I'm, I'm hopful I'm hopful Yeah. I'm hopeful too, because they have you watched a watchman excuse me the watch. You know? Why? Yeah, that's a great one. I watched the first couple episodes. So if it's any indication,

Chad:

I started watching that before I watch it. I watched the Game of Thrones. And then I just started watching Game of Thrones. I got stuck on Game of Thrones for a while someone will go back to watchmen but but yeah, watchmen is actually really good. So I've been I've been impressed with it. So yeah, I'm hoping I'm hoping the Green Lantern thing will work out. So we'll definitely see. I can't wait but it's post the release date. It hasn't been released yet. So let's hope for good things.

Kevin:

Yeah, well, I think that there's a good reason why you're worried because I think some of the people that were involved in the Ryan Reynolds 2011 is involved with this so that there's no wonder you're concerned about it.

Chad:

I know Yeah.

Kevin:

I mean, we're talking about something that is not a concern is the invincible series right.

Chad:

Oh my god, dude. The Have you seen the season finale yet?

Kevin:

I haven't even watched the show yet.

Chad:

Oh, really? Oh, yeah. If you're gonna like

Kevin:

to watch stuff, you know,

Chad:

you're definitely

Kevin:

Okay,

Chad:

so the season finale was yesterday and the first season was was awesome. I'm not going to give any spoilers because it just came out with just just get this came out yesterday, so I'm not going to give out any spoilers for that. So, but apparently, it was not planned for a second season until the final finale came out. They picked it up again for the second and third seasons. So that's gonna be really cool.

Kevin:

So whatever is in the viewership, maybe I'll do leadership as caused them to go. Okay, second, third seasons.

Chad:

Yeah, totally had ton of viewership. Like, it's been like everybody's, I guess, constantly been watching it. So the ratings been going up for it. I mean, what do you expect Robert Kirkman created the comic book. So I mean, it's the same person that created the walking dead. So I'm not really shocked.

Kevin:

I think you and I talked about a couple episodes back where they were, you know, I talked about the art style a little bit and how it looks. It runs through DC cartoon shows when we when we were growing

Chad:

yeah exactly. Like I'm not gonna give any spoilers. least try not to and, dude, I'm telling you the last the final, the final finale was definitely worth watching. Definitely worth watching. There's some cringe worthy, although it's a cartoon. It's kind of like, it kind of pulls on the heartstrings a little bit. It's like, Whoa, you know, it's like, it's really good. Hey, Kevin. You know, Day it is, you know what day it is?

Kevin:

I kind of think I know what,

Chad:

what day is Saturday? It is Saturday. It is okay, because we'll be announcing Saturday, Kevin? Yeah, that's good. At least I knew the comic book of the week. So you actually put this one out? For me. I've never really read this one. I'm actually interested. So you say it's really really good. I haven't, I haven't read it. So I'm kind of interested to read this. So the comic of the week is going to be black science Volume One how to fall for ever. The the links will be in the description on the podcast, you can actually just click right on that and send you the straight to Amazon and we are affiliated with Amazon. So that would help us out a lot. So be the blacks of black science Volume One how to fall forever. And I'm going to read you the description of the book with dramatic music. So here we go.
